Marc DavisThe issue NASCAR continually tries to battle is that the sport of racing is geared toward Southern white men and not inclusive of people of color. So when a racial incident pops up, NASCAR is quick to take action and hopes the media doesn't get wind of it.

The latest case involves the crew chief of Nationwide Series driver Brendan Gaughan, team driver Bryan Berry and black NASCAR driver Marc Davis. According to the Associated Press, Berry and Gaughan were both angry after a pit road accident at the Nashville Speedway. As the two men were heading down the pit road, Davis turned left into the garage in front of Gaughan, who ran into Davis' car.

When the two got out of the car, witnesses say they heard racial slurs when they were approaching Davis' car. The witnesses reported the incident to NASCAR officials, and the investigation found that both Berry and Gaughan were guilty. They have both been suspended indefinitely.

Car Warranty Robocalls blocked by judgeEvery day until recently, I got one of these stern-sounding messages on my answering machine: "Your car warranty is about to expire and this is your last chance to buy an extended warranty." Common sense told me that Volkswagen would send me a letter instead of a robocall, so with annoyance I would simply hit delete each time.

Turns out millions of other Americans were feeling my pain, and something is finally being done about it. After receiving nearly 30,000 consumer complaints, the Federal Trade Commission filed suit against two companies and their executives on May 14, asking a federal court in Chicago to halt a deluge of as many as a billion automated, prerecorded calls and freeze the assets of the companies.

Peugeot Campaign

Desperate times call for desperate measures.

In the same week that Peugeot announced its first quarter revenue plunged 25 percent from year-ago levels, the company publicized the U.K. debut of its 308 Coupe Cabriolet with nudity...sort of.

In a cheeky bit of naked ambition, French automaker Peugeot inundated London's morning commuters today with a pool of 308 'nude' actors who appeared to only be wearing scarves. What was the reason for the au naturel display? Why, to celebrate the arrival of the company's latest topless model, the 308 Coupe Cabriolet.

Upon closer inspection, it turns out that the flesh flash mob was actually outfitted in form-fitting body-colored suits, thus preventing the local authorities getting rude with the nudes.

We just can't get enough of Barack Obama memorabilia, can we? Remember the Illinois state Obama license plates we told you about? Since they became available on Feb. 17, over 1,400 have been ordered, raising over $50,000 to benefit a state summer reading program.

This program sold more plates than any special event plate in the state's history, according to a news release from Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White. The previous record was just over 800 plates sold in a 60-day period.

The Obama license plates are good until April 17, and then the owners have to put their old plates back on.

Not from Illinois, but still craving to have yet one more Obama collectible?
